LEGO League
An extracurricular
activity for
GRADES
5 - 8
Practices: Mondays and Thursdays
4:00 - 5:30 PM
October - January
LEGO League provides
6-10 students an opportunity to build a robot made of LEGOs which will
attempt to complete designated missions at local and state tournaments.
Team
members program their robot using user-friendly computer software. The
team is also responsible for researching information on this year's
theme, Power Puzzle,
and presenting their findings to the judges at the tournaments. The
team will be competing at the Rockwell Collins
Tournament at Taft Middle School in Cedar Rapids on Sat., Dec. 15,
2007, at the Science Center of Iowa LEGO League Challenge in Des Moines
on Sat., Jan. 5, 2008, and
at the LEGO League Iowa Championship at Iowa State University in Ames
on Sat., Jan. 19, 2008.

2007 Rockwell Collins LEGO League
Tournament
Congratulations to the St. Joseph School
LEGO League Team on an excellent performance at the Rockwell Collins
LEGO League Tournament on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Taft Middle
School. The team captured the Second Place Creative Presentation
Project Award for an imaginative, creative presentation demonstrating
the team’s research and solution to the “Power Puzzle” Project during
the tournament. The team also won the Second Place Teamwork Award.
Members of the team are Andy Fogerty, Ian Ehrke, Brent Gamerdinger,
Kevin Gorman, Jacob Schmitt, Brandon Ly, Brandon Didio, Zach Prucha,
Ray Osbon, and Thomas Ball. The coach is Mr. Mike Hayek and our
Rockwell Collins Engineer Mentors are Joey Richey, Chris Welzien, Terry
Gamerdinger, and Dave Fogerty.

2007-2008 LEGO League Iowa
Championship
Congratulations to the St. Joseph
School LEGO League Team on an excellent performance at the LEGO League
Iowa Championship in Ames on Saturday, January 19, 2008. The team
captured the Third Place Robot Design Award at the state tournament
which involved 60 teams. Members of our team are Andy Fogerty, Ian
Ehrke, Brent Gamerdinger, Kevin Gorman, Jacob Schmitt, Brandon Ly,
Brandon Didio, Zach Prucha, Ray Osbon, and Thomas Ball. The coach is
Mr. Mike Hayek and our Rockwell Collins Engineer Mentors are Joey
Richey, Chris Welzien, Terry Gamerdinger, and Dave Fogerty.
