If you find yourself getting a U slip, be an advocate
for yourself and talk with the teachers. Find out what you need to do to
eliminate that U from your progress report. Make sure to get all the
necessary signatures and turn it in BEFORE the deadline. Taking
responsibility for this shows a lot of maturity and understanding.

When you are absent from school, make sure to check the
teacher webpages at night to see what you missed. Yes, things
continue to be taught even when you are not there!
When you get back to school, make sure to stop in and
check with the teachers, hand in any homework you may have completed and
set up a plan for getting your absent work in.

Prioritize your homework each day. It may seem easier to start with the
easiest assignments and move to the hardest but really you will just end up
wearing yourself out. By doing the harder
assignments first you will feel a sense of accomplishment as you complete
your homework each day.
* Remember A.C.E. and RLC are GREAT places to get your
homework done so that you do not have as much to do when you get home in
the evening! *

Create an organizational system for each class. You can use an accordion folder, a
binder, or even just a spiral and a folder.
Make sure that for which ever system you use that you label
everything so that it is easy to find.
The more organized you are the more successful of a student you will
be!

Make sure that your agenda is filled out for each
class. Even if you don’t have
homework still fill in what you did in class. This way you will be more likely to
remember the material covered each day.
