New Lunch Account policy

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Effective January 3, 2011 any lunch account that is more than a negative $10.00 will be limited to the purchase of main meal only. The purchase of extra sides, juice, 2nd milk, extra main and ala carte will not be allowed.

Parents can view their student's lunch account balance and purchases at: www.crareacatholic.com. Enter your family ID number and password to view account. Reminders are sent automatically if I have an email address. Printed reminders will also be sent home with your child(ren).

Your middle school student will receive a lunch card I.D. at the start of the school year, which will be used as they purchase food and drink in the lunch line. We will hold the 5th and 6th grade student cards for them until lunch period and collect them after lunch. The 7th and 8th grade students will hold their own cards and be required to bring them to their lunch period.

Please remind your student that these cards help them get through the lunch line quickly so they have more time to eat lunch. The lunch I.D. should not be bent, torn, folded, written on, washed in the washing machine,dried in the dryer, or anything else that can damage it.

Last year we had a problem with lost and damaged cards and had to make quite a few new cards. This year if a student loses their card or damages it so it can no longer be read by the scanner, there will be a $5.00 charge to replace it each time. This charge will come out of their lunch account.
