Dress Attire
Grades 5-8

Pants/Slacks-Solid Color pants in corduroy, twill or dress pant material are to be worn.  Pants must be ankle length, worn at the waist, and in the following colors: Navy, gray, green, brown, tan, or black.  If pants have belt loops, a simple belt must be worn and it must go through the belt loops. 

Shorts/skorts-dress shorts/skorts no shorter than mid-thigh may be worn.  Colors are:  Navy, gray, tan or black.  Girls may also wear black watch plaid culottes.  Capris and shorts may only be worn in the months of August/September and May/June.

Shirts/Blouses-Collared dress shirts, turtlenecks, or mock turtlenecks are to be worn at all times.  Shirts must have sleeves and must be tucked in.  No denim or flannel allowed. Shirts/blouses must be buttoned (one button or one inch from the top). No bare midriffs.

Sweaters-dress sweaters/cardigans/sweater vests may be worn with a collared shirt or turtleneck beneath them.  A cardigan sweater may have a single-zipper.  No outerwear or outerwear fleece may be worn during the school day. (hoods are not allowed)

Shoes-Only closed toe and heel shoes are allowed.  Socks must be worn at all times.  No military boots or cowboy boots allowed.

Skirts-Skirts are not allowed except on designated dress-up days.

Head Gear- hats, caps, or other head coverings are not allowed during the school day.

Miscellaneous-
Jewelry-Dangling or excessive earring will not be allowed.
Makeup-Only mascara, blush and clear lip gloss will be allowed.  (female students, only)
Hairstyles-Hair is to be neat and well-groomed.  Extreme styles are not allowed.

Free-Dress/Spirit Days-No tops with inappropriate slogans are to be worn.  Students may dress in school colors (silver,black, blue, or green) for spirit days or wear shirts that say LaSalle, Holy Family, or Xavier.  Students may wear jeans or sweat pants with spirit wear.
**Free dress days are usually the 2nd Friday of the month. (check school calendar).
**Spirit Day is the last Friday of the month. 
**No free dress on Liturgy days. 
**Students who comply with dress code regulations may earn a free dress day. 

Dress-up days-Dress code or better is the rule.  Students must dress appropriately and modestly.  No jeans allowed. 

Penalties - Students in violation of the school attire guidelines will be given a dress code violation - this includes the untucking of shirts. A violation results in the loss of the Free Dress rewards day for that student. If 3 dress code violations are acquired, a detention will be issued. Parent contact will be made if frequent violations are observed. Parents may be asked to bring a change of colthing if necessary.

Dress code is enforced upon entering the building until 3:25.

Final decisions about the appropriateness/inappropriateness of student attire will rest with the school administration.
