Guidance Bulletin
Im thrilled to have joined
the Holy Family School System as your K-8 guidance counselor.
New to the district, Ive spent these first weeks just starting
to get to know your students and your schools. Though Ive
only had the opportunity to meet with a few students one-on-one,
I can already sense the excitement for all that awaits us in
the 2007-2008 school year. It is obvious Holy Family Schools
is a wonderful setting for academic, social, and spiritual growth;
Im so glad to have become a part of it.
Please feel free to contact me if there is any way I can be of
assistance to your son or daughter throughout the year. Balancing
my schedule between the three buildings may make me a bit difficult
to track down, but hopefully, the dedicated office assistants
will be able to locate me or will certainly forward your message
as needed. All building offices have copies of my proposed weekly
schedule, and one is also posted on each of my office doors.
Please dont hesitate to leave me a message via phone or
e-mail (ldaily@crcath. pvt.k12.ia.us), and Ill get back
to you as soon as I can.
With the dawning of September, I cant help but start thinking
ahead to October. October is such an exciting and busy month!
One of the treats of this Respect for Life Month,
is the opportunity for all of our third through eighth graders
to take the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills during the week of the
15th-19th. By taking these tests, students demonstrate their
level of knowledge in a variety of subjects, show possible areas
of strength and weakness, and illustrate how they have grown
since taking last years tests. Test results also help teachers
and administrators obtain information that will be important
as they plan and develop the instruction they provide. Please
help your sons and daughters perform their best by encouraging
their full effort, talking about the tests to ease their anxiety,
providing a consistent schedule of bedtimes and routines, and
promoting a well-balanced breakfast each morning. Mark your calendars,
and lets make the most of our abilities this fall!
Looking forward to all that the year
will bring,
Lisa Daily
