Who- American Colonist

What- The American Colonist declared freedom and ignoring the rule of the British.

When- July 4, 1776

Where- Washington D.C

How- The British Parliaments were trying to tax the colonies and the American leaders challenged the British. Three acts by the parliament to raising taxes provoked and then protest from the colonists. They were the Stamp Act of 1765, Townshend Acts of 1767, and the Tea Act of 1773.

Why- The American Colonist didnt want the British to be incontrol of them.
