Stamp Acts

By: Jordan
Who? Bristish and Colonist's
What? Suppose to raise funds to recover from the money loose from the war.
When? March 1765
Where? Virginia
How? For help with the cost of the war that the British were in they passed the Stamp Acts. The act required stamped paper, diplomas, almanacs, broadsides, newspapers, and playing cards. When the stamp was on that paper it was proof that the tax had been paid. Money from the Stamp Acts went to the British solders that were in a war against the colonies.
Why? The Britsish were needing money so they had to do many different taxes to regroup. The Colonists were sick of being taxed unfairly so they faught for it.
